Community - Part 2 - Helping Small Businesses - Bump 'n Grind Coffee Shop

Community - Part 2 - Helping Small Businesses

We believe strongly in the importance of small businesses, in creating a sense of place in our communities and their powerful economic impact on local economies. We work hard to understand their needs, and support them in their social and personal goals. How? We consult for free, help with equipment and offer some of the best pricing on top tier conscientious coffee in the US.

About 8 months ago, we received a message from a small business owner in St. Louis who wanted to use Bump 'n Grind as the name of his coffee shop. He realized we held a trademark on the name, related to coffee business in the US, and asked if he could license it. He'd never opened or operated a coffee spot before, but had the space for one and after talking I simply said what if I help you open and you use our coffee, instead of paying a licensing fee.

He was shocked to find someone willing to spend time, energy to help and propose a collaborative approach/partnership. 8 months later, after driving to St. Louis - dropping off equipment and spending a few days training. Jim didn't even end up using our name, but has opened Boom 'n Brew in downtown St. Louis - a subsidiary of his Burlesque club Boom Boom Room.

I couldn't be happier and more proud of him. On our end, we've got some new friends, partners - we're helping a young family, an artistic community and providing a part of downtown St. Louis that doesn't have a good coffee, hang out spot with what we consider a key part of thriving community. So many people are walking away with a win, and that's what it's all about. Helping others thrive and create special places.
