About the Coffee:
Marjorie Pereira’s journey begins in the heart of Três Corações City, where the lush Ipê Farm sits 1000 meters above sea level in the rich lands of South Minas. On this farm, two extraordinary coffee varieties, Mundo Novo and Arara, thrive under her care. Hand-picked with precision, only the ripest cherries are harvested before being meticulously pulped and dried – first on patios and then slowly in a rotary dryer. But the story of Ipê Farm is more than a tale of coffee cultivation; it’s a story of resilience.
Once a refuge for Marjorie, a retired dentist, Ipe Farm became her sanctuary after losing her husband, who had long steered the family’s coffee production. Faced with immense grief and the weight of managing the farm, she felt daunted by the challenges ahead. Yet, with the unwavering support of her children, Janaina and Matheus, Marjorie found strength in the land and the coffee they cultivated together.
Today, Marjorie and her children manage Ipe Farm and run two flourishing coffee shops. Visitors to the farm are invited to experience a journey from soil to cup, discovering the intricate process of growing, fermenting, and roasting coffee—each step infused with the same perseverance and passion that defines Majorie’s story. At Ipe Farm, the aroma of coffee is more than a scent; it’s the spirit of the family’s legacy.
