Psychic Void

Skeleton Paradise, the second LP from Windsor, Ontario's Psychic Void, is exactly 24 minutes long. 12 minutes on each side of a 10” record. Mixing gloomy, introspective lyrics with a sunny disposition, their unique blend of hardcore and psych-punk gives your veins a jolt of magnetic energy. The album opens with a minute-and-a-half-long electronic intro, leading into track after track of catchy riffs layered with an unsettling tone of grit. Having played shows with Show Me the Body, Urochromes and Glitterer, this is a band that deforms the container in which they are held. If there was a word in the English language that combined happiness with anger, it would perfectly describe this record.
